Southern Kuzbass raises coal production by 80% in October

MOSCOW, Dec 11 (PRIME) -- The coal output of Russia’s Southern Kuzbass, part of metals and mining group Mechel, remained flat on the month but jumped by 80% on the year to more than 1 million tonnes in November, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

In January–November, coal production of the company rose by 21% on the year to 7.7 million tonnes. Open pit mines of the company processed 36 million cubic meters of rock, strip mining grew 36% on the year in the period. Sales of coal increased 16% to 5.8 million tonnes.
